      Pretty plain

Knife is well built and meant to be a serious tool. Ordered it with curly Maple, and was hoping at least the handle would have a little character. Unfortunately the example I got was as straight grained and boring as they come for curly maple. Very plain and not what I was thinking I would get. Nothing wrong with the knife other than I don’t like the wood for the piece I got. Given the cost, it should be better. Just my opinion.

Surpassed my expectations by a mile!

When purchasing this knife I was looking for knife that was a good middle ground between heft and finesse, and I'll be honest, I was worried about the finesse part. But after receiving the knife and carving a few try-sticks and taking it out on two nights in the woods my worries have been put to rest. With a 5.5 inch long and 3/16 thick blade it obviously processes firewood like a dream. While carving wood for Bushcraft projects, you can easily remove large amounts material with the base of the blade and with the spear point tip, you can perform fine carving task fairly easily. obviously considering the size and shape of the knife, it's not your typical "Bushcraft" knife but I'm here to tell you, it works beautifully for me and I'm more than pleased with my purchase. And the cherry on top is the handle that fits so comfortably and securely in the hand it damn near feels like part of it.

      Great Knife....but

The knife is awesome but the maple handles sure aren't as pretty as the one in the picture.

I have purchased many knives, most have been fancy and very costly. I use these knives for outdoor use and camping. I’ve been looking at PKS Pathfinder’s knives for a while now. I finally decided to purchase one that would handle all my camping needs. I needed a work horse. The knife isn’t fancy. BUT! This is by far one of the best knifes I have. I have $250-$300 knives that I don’t even use anymore. This knife has won me over and I’m very happy with my purchase. I’ve used it numerous times and haven’t needed to sharpen it. Feels good in my hand and can handle a work load. Now I only wish I would purchased this knife a long time ago. Great job pathfinder. My only gripe is that I wasn’t able to purchase a sheath. They were sold out. If only each knife came with its own sheath.
