Great knife

Great knife, almost perfect. The handle fits more or less, but not ideal. My issue is that the handle didn’t look like on the picture and wasn’t stained at all. That felt like an unfinished product. I might have to do it myself. The forged, black part of the blade had some rough imperfections but I guess that’s why it’s called dirty by design. overall the knife is great, but i wish they would’ve stained the handle.

Wood filler?

PKS Knives are the “Gold Standard” when it comes to Bushcraft knives. Each one is a testament to the craft and a masterpiece. I own a Mountaineer, and I ordered a Grizzly for my son. I was a little disappointed that the curly maple scales lacked the “ribbing” that they are known for, but I understand that wood grains vary. However, it would appear that there were a couple of cracks in the scales that couldn’t be sanded out. I suspect they used wood filler in the cracks. Although still functional, the wood filler is a blemish on the beauty of the natural wood. A true craftsman would have replaced the scales. This handling of the product sheds a negative light on what I consider to be a knife that stands above all others. PKS, I know it’s hard keeping these knives on the shelves, but never sacrifice craftsmanship for sales. You can do better. My Mountaineer is the best knife I have. The Grizzly I ordered for my son is a disappointment.

We shall see

The first grizzly knife i got in was extremely brittle. It would chio with any sort of use.
Customer service was great. They sent me out a new grizzly knife. This one is holding up... however the new one they sent came with a very ugly blond handle. Doesn't look like the beautiful curly maple, that the first one came with.

Gorgeous Knife!

This knife was so hard to get but well worth the wait, it’s about the same thickness as the Mountaineer knife, but the blade is longer and the shape is probably more ideal for splitting wood, especially when batoning, good real-estate on the knife.

It’s definitely a tank of a knife, more than capable of handling any task, if this was the only knife I had, I have no doubt it get me though a zombie apocalypse.
